Chapter 468 The Harris Family Monopolizes Entertainment Industry
Remus immediately got up to greet Treyton in an ingratiating manner.
“You’re finally here, Mr. Treyton. Please, have a seat.”
With furrowed brows, Treyton snapped unceremoniously, “Are you annoyed that I’m late?”
“Oh, of course not. I’m honored to have my restaurant be blessed with your presence. How could I possibly criticize
you?” Remus then slapped his own mouth lightly and smiled apologetically. “I shouldn’t have said that. I hope you
don’t take it to heart, Mr. Treyton.”
Treyton glowered at him, feeling reluctantly satisfied with his attitude.
Being no fool, Remus quickly sensed Treyton’s hostility toward him. It was obvious that Treyton was asserting his
dominance to bruise Remus ego when he snapped at the latter as soon as he came in.
However, Remus needed his help, so he wore a smile on his face and humbly invited Treyton to his seat before
diligently pouring wine for the latter.
“Mr. Treyton, let me offer you a toast first as my apology.”
Glancing at the wine glass next to his hand, Treyton did not reach out to hold it. With a cold voice, he prompted,
“Cut to the chase. I’m too busy to see you beat around the bush.”
Remus was stunned for a while.
Having been dissed again, he felt awkward. He had no choice but to put down his wine glass and tell him about the
purpose of the meeting embarrassingly. “I wonder if you know about the trending topic about Abbot Group
recently.”
Saying nothing. Treyton stared at him coldly, with an unfriendly attitude.
Remus had no choice but to lower his head and go on, “Two days ago, it suddenly broke out on the internet that
there is a problem with Abbot Group’s food safety. The news exaggerates things, but the netizens believe it. The
business of the hotels and restaurants under Abbot Group has been slow these few days, and our stock price is still

whom my company has offended that it has to experience such targeted hostility.” With a bitter face, he continued
to plead with a lowly stance, “Mr. Treyton, you own half of the entertainment industry. You only need to raise your
hand and make a phone call to cool things down. I’ll give my all to get you whatever you want!”
Treyton had been waiting for him to make such a promise. “I can help you remove the trending topic about Abbot
Group and even clarify that its food safety issue is just a rumor to restore its reputation.”
Remus was pleasantly surprised, as if a good deal had fallen into his lap. “You’re the best, Mr. Treyton! You’re
basically like a god! Whatever you need, I will spare no effort to help you get it!”
With a pursed lips smile, Treyton raised his wine glass elegantly to Remus.
Flattered, Remus hurriedly raised his wine glass with both hands and clinked it against Treyton’s before drinking up
the wine with sincerity.
Treyton, who merely took a sip, said, “What I need is very simple. Just call off your engagement with Jennifer
Newton.”

Remus almost choked on the wine.
He knew that Treyton had dated Jennifer in the past, but he did not expect Treyton to take her so seriously.
“What’s the matter? You don’t want to?” Treyton asked with raised eyebrows after seeing that Remus did not speak.
Remus was caught between a rock and a hard place. “Mr. Treyton, do you have any other needs besides this?”
Treyton pursed his lips with a gloomy expression, not responding to his question.
Sensing his displeasure, Remus had no choice but to explain, “To tell you the truth, Mr. Treyton, I took the initiative
to ask Mr. Craig for her hand. If I call it off, Mr. Craig probably won’t return the engagement gifts.”
Not only that, he would also offend Craig.
Moreover, given how much Treyton cared about Jennifer, he would definitely not allow Remus to place the blame
for calling off the engagement on Jennifer. Therefore, the Abbot family would have to take the blame.
No matter what choices he made. Remus would offend someone.
Ignoring what Remus said, Treyton made it clear that it was non-negotiable. “You have one day to think about it. You
either call off the engagement, or there’ll be no deal.”
After smoothing out the wrinkles on his expensive trousers, Treyton got up and stared at Remus condescendingly.
“By calling off the engagement, you’ll offend Craig, and Abbot Group will recover after a brief two-day decline in its
stock price. By not calling off the engagement, you’ll offend the entire Harris family, and Abbot Group will never
recover from the setback and will go into bankruptcy!”
After making the intimidating remarks, Treyton left the private room without looking back.
“Mr. Treyton. Mr. Treyton,” Remus shouted but failed to stop Treyton in his tracks.
Sitting limply in the chair, he noticed that Treyton had said “the entire Harris family,” which filled his heart with
regret.
Originally, he thought that marrying Jennifer would allow him to form a connection with the Newton family, but to
his dismay, he offended Treyton because of it.
He had suffered great losses by straining at a gnat and swallowing a camel.
Sighing, he took out his phone and called the PR department of Abbot Group. “Go and find out who has the most
say in the entertainment industry besides Treyton. Now.”
Two minutes later, the PR department sent a text message to his mobile phone.
There were only three words in the text: Gwendolyn Shalders Harris.
Gwendolyn’s Angle Corporation was the most valuable entertainment company other than Treyton’s entertainment
company. The former even had many top celebrities such as Jennifer, Joaquin, Jayden, and

Gwendolyn was considered to be the person who had control over the other half of the entertainment industry

Remus was bereft of speech.
The entertainment industry has been taken over by the Harris family. It’s basically ruled by the siblings. Judging by
Treyton’s attitude, I think I’ll probably get the same response from Gwendolyn if I go to her.
Laying his head down on the table, Remus groaned in misery, not knowing what to do.
When the tea party was over, all the socialites, who had had a great time, bade Gwendolyn goodbye and drove
home leisurely in their own luxury cars.
Jasmine also left with Triss, chatting.
Standing by the railing of the restaurant, Gwendolyn allowed the wind to tousle her hair, giving her a different kind
of beauty.
She gracefully tucked her hair behind her ears and touched her earlobes that were void of earrings. She then
quickly sent a message to Nico: It’s done. Proceed as planned.
When it was time to get off work, Craig adjusted his military attire and left his office at Federal Bureau of
Investigation with folded arms.
As soon as he was in the corridor, he saw Cedrick, who was also in a military uniform, standing by the railing on the
second floor, looking down at the hall on the first floor of the building.
Cedrick was often dressed in plain clothes while on duty and did not always change into his military uniform when
he came to Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Hence, Craig was stunned for a moment upon seeing Cedrick in such formal attire before walking over. “What a
coincidence, Mr. Jenson. What brings you here?” he asked with a sheepish grin.
Hearing his voice, Cedrick turned around. The military uniform with medals had added to his good looks, making
him look righteous and commanding.
Looking down, he replied in a deep voice that was void of emotions, “It’s not a coincidence. I’m here to see you.”
Craig was nonplussed for a moment before he hurriedly stood upright with his palms touching the seam of his
trousers to give Cedrick a salute. “At your command, Mr. Jenson.”
Brushing past him, Cedrick walked toward his office while instructing, “Come with me.”
