Jake walked into the forge, the smell of burnt coal, iron, and sweat everywhere. This place was what was running his guild currently.
As long as it kept going, his guild would.
He walked inside, travelling the maze that was the forge. There were blacksmiths everywhere, all of them working. None of them were free enough to even look up to greet their boss.
"Just what is this place? I knew you had blacksmiths, but not this many! How the hell do you have enough money to recruit all of them?" Myriad Arrows was astonished.
"This is your first time here, right? I forgot I never brought you here. Well then, this place is the core of the guild. And don't worry. We have another forge just like this, but its a little smaller, and only has like fifty blacksmiths in there. This one is the main forge." Jake smiled.
"You get the money eventually. I mean, these blacksmiths pay for themselves. For the single gold coin I am paying them per month, they will easily give me two gold coins of value in return, maybe even more. And how else am I going to be expected to outfit so many guild members?" Jake asked.
They kept moving in, and the forge was still ongoing. It looked endless. This was not a purchase that Jake made though. It was a merger. Many forges around here owned by blacksmiths that Jake hired offered to combine all of the forges together into one massive forge.
That was how this behemoth of a forge was made.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtThey made their way to the center of the forge, with a person working a piece of metal, his shirt taken off, and sweat building up on his eyebrows and rock solid muscles.
"Isn't that your head of the blacksmith division?" Myriad Arrows asked.
"Yup. That is him. Infinite Pines. I am here to talk to him." Jake nodded, saying with a low voice.
There were blacksmiths everywhere, and even a small sound could distract them. With so many of them making weapons, them failing their forging process was only going to effect Jake, who would effectively lose money.
They waited while Infinite Pines worked his wonder. Strike by strike, his hammer was singing. The iron beneath was singing. It was a harmony in the forge.
Soon, the metal started glowing, either because the charcoal beneath got to it, or because of the game's effect of blacksmiths.
One final strike on the metal, and all of a sudden, it started to morph. That was all it took. Now, it was dependent on the luck of the blacksmith. The odds were clearly defined for every class. Rare Grade blacksmiths were obviously going to be better than normal grade ones. As for Epic Grade Blacksmiths, they were unheard of.
Ding!
The metal suddenly became a sword, which Infinite Pines took up and threw in a bucket of water, which sizzled with heat. He then looked up at his guests.
"Boss! I didn't see you there. How long have you been waiting?" Infinite Pines quickly asked. This man had quite literally turned his life around, and he was willing to do anything he could for him.
"Well, we finished the raid. Your weapons did good. Now that we got better equipment, we can sell them as well, so that your work can become famous. But that is besides the point. I am here to reward you for your hard work." Jake smiled as he took out an item from his inventory.
It was a hammer. But it was no ordinary hammer. This had an epic glow to it. This was an Epic Grade Hammer. An Epic Item. For a blacksmith, the better the forging hammer, the better the chances of creating something good.
Infinite Pines' eyes shone. They watered, actually.
"For me? Really?" he asked, almost breaking down.
"Don't act like a baby. Here, take it." Jake pushed the hammer onto Infinite Pines and shook his head.
"For once, act like the exterior that you put on. Well then, now is the more important part. I need your forge to start working on this named set." Jake took out the blueprint as well.
Infinite Pines stopped sniffing as he glared at the blue sheet of paper that Jake took out.
"You found a blueprint of a named set? A Rare Grade named set?" he asked, not sure if what he heard was real or not.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm"That's right. We found a named set. Do you want it or not? Rather, can you do it or not?" Jake asked.
Infinite Pines immediately took the blue print and looked through it.
"Goblin Madness. Interesting. This is a pure attack type set, so the hardest part, the armor, shouldn't be that hard. I should be able to do it. So should everyone. But as for the success rate-"
"Don't worry about the success rate. As long as it is above thirty percent, this is worth manufacturing." Jake said.
"Thirty percent? That's it? How is that worth it? You will lose seventy percent of the materials you put in!" Myriad Arrows protested.
"The materials for a single set look to be about five silvers. If we look at ten sets, fifty silvers to get the materials, and let us say that our success rate is horrible at thirty percent. Even then, we will be able to make three sets, each worth at least fifty silvers each. So even then, boss will be able to earn a two hundred percent margin." Infinite Pines pointed out.
"Wait. Named sets have margins like that? Then why isn't everyone trying to make these?"
"A named set can only be made with a blueprint. Some stupid rule. We can share a blueprint amongst ourselves, but if we do not have the blueprint around us, the success rate of completing a named set is zero." Infinite Pines said.
"Good. Now that we have everything in place, I have to return to the store, where there are thousands of people waiting to join my guild, and thousands more trying to swallow it." Jake smiled.
