Chapter 399

Jenny smiled, though she felt a bit uneasy.
She wisely decided not to ask more questions, but during her daily visits to Richard, she brought him
meals that were said to be good for his health.
Soon, their neighbors became aware of Richard’s ‘health issues’ thanks to the delicious aroma of these
meals.
But that’s a story for another day
After the prank on Jenny, Pearl was in a great mood.
Raymond, who was still processing the situation, watched Pearl burst into laughter and couldn’t help
but chuckle. “I thought Jenny would drive you crazy this time.”
“How is that even possible? Do I look like someone who takes a hit? I’m the one who comes out on top,
never the loser,” Pearl confidently declared.

“What are you going to do next?”
Pearl put away her phone, tilted her head, and thought for a moment. “How about we go back to
Bodgow first? Since everything’s settled here, I’d like to see Blake.”
“Before I came here, he got scolded for not revealing any information about you.”
Pearl clutched her stomach and laughed heartily. “Don’t worry, he’s the pride and joy of the Jordans. A
little scolding won’t bother him much”
Raymond’s eyes darkened, and he smirked. “Yeah, that was the first time I saw Blake getting scolded
like that, but he didn’t give away any of your information.”
Pearl put away her smile, and suddenly, a hint of nostalgia crept in. “So if I go back now, do you think
I’ll have to see his grumpy face all the time?”
Raymond didn’t know what to say, but he was… pretty speechless.
“Well, now that everything’s done, I don’t have much reason to stay here. I might as well go back to
Bodgow.”
Raymond nodded. “Then let’s go back together.”
Before leaving, Pearl met with Esther and the others.
Seeing Pearl and Raymond together, Esther hugged her with tears and snot streaming down her face.
“Jenny just posted on social media, saying that she’s with Richard and they’re getting engaged soon.
She also said that Richard broke up with you a long time ago. Are you okay?”
“She’s right. I broke up with Richard a long time ago.” Pearl didn’t mind, even though Esther’s snot
ended up on her.
Mobius stepped forward, a bit hesitant to speak “Pearl, I really wanted you to be my sister-in-law.”
Pearl playfully slapped him on the head. “Alright, stop thinking about it. Although I can’t be your sister-
in-law, we can still be friends, even if we might not meet as often.”
Hanzel sensed the tone of her words and asked, “Where are you going?”

“Back to Bodgow.”
Esther wiped her nose and widened her eyes. “Why are you going back to Bodgow? Why don’t you
stay in Enswood?”
“Because I belong to the Jordans. That’s why I’m going back, and also to get engaged to Raymond.”
Pearl spoke calmly, showing that she had let go of her past with Richard.
The three of them widened their eyes, looking at the seemingly perfect couple before them with mixed
feelings. Especially Hanzel, who looked visibly disappointed. Even Esther, who was usually oblivious,
noticed that.
“It’s okay, Hanzel. With transportation being so convenient now, Bodgow isn’t far from Enswood. We’ll
have plenty of opportunities to meet.
Hanzel struggled to speak but finally managed to say, “I know.”
After bidding farewell to the three of them, Pearl initially considered making a social media post to
officially announce her engagement to Raymond, without downplaying its significance.
However, Raymond opposed the idea.
